Honor
He says, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you",even more important than not murdering, commiting adultery, stealing, lying.
And together with the other 9 commandments, it appeared TWICE in the Book.
I've always got an issue with what is HONOR.
as a verb:
1. to hold in honor or high respect; revere
2. to treat with honor
3. to confer honor or distinction upon
4. to worship (Supreme One)
5. commerce; to accept or pay
6. to accept as valid and conform to the request or demands of (an official document)
7. to meet or salute with a bow (in square dancing)
dictionary meaning really didnt quite help this time round. except for the 4th definition. Meaning, honoring parents just like how i honor God. but but but....they are so imperfect! compare with my Heavenly Father??! Sure??!!!

regardless whether they treated me well
regardless whether they provided for me
regardless whether they are there for me
regardless whether they are parenting the "way" they should
regardless whether we share the same views
regardless whether we follow the same set of values
i can choose my friends, my school, my career, my husband, my church, my leaders, but i cannot choose my family. my dad will always be my dad, my mum will always be my mum, my sisters will always be my sisters. like how i never know what God has in place for me, i may not have the capacity and idea what my lovely family have in place for me. Indeed we have flaws and may even pass wrong judgments, i still wanna learn how to love like You've loved me.
I so wanna be filled with love, so much so much of love
that there's no more capacity for hatred and the bimbotic "don't like"
haha.
teach me
Lord =)
